After two months and a fantastic road trip started in Melbourne, my Australian adventure stopped in Brisbane, the Queensland capital, on the North-East side of the country. A modern and active city trying to make some noise and to exist next to its big sisters, Sydney and Melbourne. Only two hours from the beautiful beaches of the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, Surfer’s Paradise, Brisbane is the business center of this tropical, hot and surprising area.
The best hotel to stay in Brisbane
We stayed four days in Brisbane before leaving for the Great Barrier Reef and we had a wonderful time at the splendid Ovolo Inchcolm Hotel. A historic and elegant edifice in the heart of the city. Built in the twenties, you just have to pass the doors of its Art-Deco façade to feel the charm of the wooden corridors, the old vintage elevator and to dive in the Australia of the past century. When we stayed there the Hotel was part of the group McGallery by Sofitel and it is now an Ovolo hotel, they gave it a new look and a stronger identity that makes it even more interesting.
This 5 Stars Hotel hosts more than 50 elegant rooms and suites, a sophisticated restaurant and a glamour bar where the most British of the Brisbaners love to meet. The service is highly qualified and the concierge has a lot of advices to provide, it helped us a lot in our visits. The Ovolo Inchcolm proposes its own body products and is a very charming place for those who look for a quiet and creative place in the middle of the city. A beautiful house surrounded by skyscrapers and towers. Perfect.
Among its rooms and suites, The Ovolo Inchcolm has a very exclusive experience to offer to his visitors, the Loft, one of its most beautiful suites. Located on the last floor, a duplex offering a breath-taking view of the city, exactly where we chose to spend our four days in Brisbane.
The living room is very spacious and luminous. You just have to go up the few stairs to discover the room and the bathroom. The whole suite offers a wonderful view of Brisbane’s skyline, on the other side of the street, thanks to the four meters high window.
Every floor has its own tv and you will find an iPad on every side of the bed for you to use during your stay. Also, the bathroom is very beautiful and stays in the style of the hotel while being very modern and design.
The Ovolo Inchcolm is according to me the best Hotel to stay in Brisbane, joining modernism and history to heritage. It is very pleasant to stay in a place where the service is the priority and we highly recommend it.
